Chandelier Duvaux

The Met x Eichholtz presents the Chandelier Duvaux, inspired by a pair of opulent French chandeliers (ca. 1790) in The Met collection. With an antiqued gold finish and cascading crystal pendants, our interpretation is handmade in Spain and embodies the grandeur and historical charm of this period in French design, illuminating your space with unparalleled elegance.

Inspiration

The Chandelier Duvaux echoes the grandeur of the 18th-century French artisanship exhibited in The Met’s pair of elaborate chandeliers, which feature intricate acanthus leaves, seedpods, and crystal finials. Though their frames date to the late 18th century, the earlier crystal pendants in their design indicate that they may have been worked on by the dealer Lazare Duvaux (French, ca. 1703–1758), who not only sold, shipped and installed chandeliers, but also took them apart for cleaning or repairs.
