Open flames require 30 centimeters of clearance upwards and to the side, away from curtains, shelves, and anything hanging. Stable, heavy holders do not tip over, which is more important on a coffee table with a glass top than any design. Brass can be polished with a soft cloth; warm water is better than any scratching for removing wax residue.
